Poor bloke - he looks so strong and powerful. Must be hard to take when he'd just got back going.

Great shame he was looking good after he came back from injury. Surely we must buy another striker in the summer.

A cartilage injury has him out for 9 months?
I smell bullshit.

I think they meant to spell cartilage as C.R.U.C.I A.T.E.

Yep. Agree with the doc. Had both injuries. Cartilage is 6 - 9 weeks and cruciate is 9 months minimum.

If its a lie - maybe its one to extract money from the club to buy a new striker. Afterall, 6-9 weeks would see him return in time for pre-season - 9 months means no striker at all. They could bring him back slowly in Sept/Oct and cite miracle cure....

It appears that Sanchez injured his ankle at the Copa America and may not be fit for Liverpool.

At least we have to buy a top CB now (hopefully).

Gabriel has tonsillitis and didn`t travel I assume he will be fit for Liverpool, however, Rob Holding could partner Chambers for the Liverpool game, Sturridge must be licking his lips in anticipation

Depends on where you read, one newspaper said 5 months another said he would be available for the friendly in Norway.
Probably be 5 months once our medical team are involved. ;)

Seems like it's a long term injury, as Wenger said in his press conference in San Jose that he's looking to bring in another defender.

Evening Foys.

I do hope that AW bites the bullet and brings in a top defender to replace Per and not a stop gap defender until Per is fit again. It is quite possible that mertesackers time might have come.

Mertesacker's injury is a great excuse to source his long term replacement .

Afternoon Den.

Lot of tslk about the German that plays for Valencia, Mustafi I think. Agree about replacing the BFG, he's past his peak imo.

2 little plasters below the knee cap suggest laporoscopic surgery. Very likely damaged meniscus
